$5,000 Award Will Help Grow Business Offerings During Pandemic

The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Indianapolis awarded Taylor Made Wellness a $5,000 grant to help with continued business growth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Taylor Made Wellness was among 25 awardees to receive the $5,000 grant out of a pool of over 300 businesses. All grantees currently have 10 or less employees and approximately 60% of the grant recipients are women-owned businesses.

Together with residents and partners, LISC aims to address the challenges of COVID-19 with a distinct focus on equity and inclusion,” said Tedd Grain, Executive Director of LISC Indianapolis. “The resiliency of our women-and-minority-owned enterprises will be critical to our economic recovery. We must prioritize these investments in our traditionally under-resourced and connected Indianapolis communities.

The $5,000 grant will allow Taylor Made Wellness to continue to provide quality programming in our community such as our FREE Yoga classes that are designed to reduce stress. Our goal when we started the free Tuesday offering last fall was to combat stress in the African American population. With the current climate of racial tensions that are being felt by everyone and the affects that Covid19 brought to the community as a whole, we decided to add the Thursday offering...after all, we're all in this together," said Kelsey Taylor, President, Taylor Made Wellness.

The LISC grants were made possible with financial support from the Glick Foundation, JPMorgan Chase Foundation, Wells Fargo, MJ Insurance and IDS.
